Update
We updated our server to omit redirections for *.dtd in addition to *.xsd for the remainder of this test, due to a few reports of issues with software that retrieves .dtd files from our site.

Scheduled
We will be conducting a third test of redirecting all resources on www.w3.org from http to https, for 48 hours starting at 17:00 UTC on Thursday September 1. For this test, we will omit redirections for request URIs ending in *.xsd but redirect the rest of the site.

The redirections for *.xsd will be omitted from this test in the interest of avoiding issues with legacy software that has not yet been updated to handle redirects and https. We plan to conduct further tests of redirecting the entire site including *.xsd, with the next such test likely scheduled for early October.

The goal of these tests is to gather experience and feedback in anticipation of deploying this change to our site permanently within the next few months.
